Happy Birthday Dad.

Being an asshole is all I have left.
We never stop missing the ones we love.
ReplyDeleteAs Lori said, we never stop missing our loved ones. Looks like both our dads served in WWII. I didn't know any POWs, but that logo always makes me take a deep breath.
ReplyDeleteI miss my dad too. I vaguely resent that neither of my sons ever knew a grandfather.
ReplyDeleteI watched a documentary the other evening on those children who lost a parent in 9/11. In many cases, since the bodies could not be recovered, those kids were left clinging to slivers of hope.
"What if ?..." this; "What if ?..." that.
Prolonging the agony.
Very sad.
Where did he disappear ? Europe ? Pacific ? Battle of the Bulge ?
ReplyDeleteBattle of the Bulge, 19 Dec. 1944. Listed first as MIA the later as a POW.
